Inspired by Justice League

Did you know it takes 700 gallons of water to make just one shirt! Who knew so much water was wasted in making clothes. During our project, I learned all about the amount of water used to make clothes. We went to a water district to see how much water is stored and used. They told us that water textile mills use up massive amounts of water and do not reuse it. So we decided that our project was going to bring awareness to people regarding the amount of water wasted during the process of making shirts.

We created a presentation based on the Justice League that explained water waste. We named ourselves the Fiber Friends. The skit starts off with Water Waster (me, Kai) controlling the people in the city to only wear clothes made by him. The heroes are Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Aquaman. They stop Water Waster from his excessive water wasting and create a website to bring awareness about the amounts of water wasted on making shirts.

During our research we found some companies recycle water or have special processes in place to cut down on the amount of water used. We just need to spread the word to get other companies to follow…. Check out our website at https://ffunite.wixsite.com/fiberfriendsunite There’s lots of interesting information and fun games. Help us save water!
